Cashier's
Billabletrait (and similarlylemonsqueezy/laravel's ownBillabletrait) define methods likesubscribe(),subscribed(),subscription()that internally call$this->subscriptions()by unqualified name. PHP traits resolve an unqualified method call to whichever trait's implementation last won the slot on the class — you cannotusetwo Billable-style traits side by side and expect both to work. One of them will silently call the wrongsubscriptions()relation, usually surfacing as$user->activeSubscriptionor$user->subscribed('plan')returning the wrong provider's row (or null) instead of throwing.Fix: only mix in one full Billable trait. For the second provider, hand-roll the relation and checks instead of using its package trait:
public function stripeSubscriptions(): HasMany { return $this->hasMany(\Laravel\Cashier\Subscription::class); } public function stripeSubscribed(string $type): bool { return $this->stripeSubscriptions()->where('type', $type)->whereIn('stripe_status', ['trialing', 'active'])->exists(); }Same goes for building checkout sessions: skip the package's
SubscriptionBuilderfor the second provider and hit the SDK directly. A bit more boilerplate, but no silent trait collisions. Also worth knowing: if you disable Cashier's own webhook routes (
Cashier::ignoreRoutes()) to run your own controller, its default webhook handlers for subscription events also call$this->subscriptions()unqualified — so your own handler needs to override anything that touches that relation, not just add new event types.
