EnsureFeaturesAreActiveresponds with a 400 by default when a flag is off. For a feature you are hiding, a 404 is usually what you want: the route should look like it doesn't exist. Set it once in a service provider, along with the default scope:use Laravel\Pennant\Feature; use Laravel\Pennant\Middleware\EnsureFeaturesAreActive; Feature::resolveScopeUsing(fn () => Auth::user()?->team); EnsureFeaturesAreActive::whenInactive(fn () => abort(404));Route::middleware(EnsureFeaturesAreActive::using(Webhooks::class))->group(...);For tests, set
PENNANT_STORE=arrayin phpunit.xml so no table is needed, and turn a flag on with a small helper that redefines it:function withWebhooks(): void { Feature::define(Webhooks::class, true); }Gate the places a route middleware doesn't reach as well: actions that create the hidden thing, MCP tools (
shouldRegister()), scheduled jobs that deliver through it, and the nav (@feature(...)).
