EnsureUserIsAdmin), Livewire only applies it on the initial page load. Every later click goes to/livewire/update, which does not re-run that middleware unless you tell it to. So any logged-in user who can grab a component snapshot can call its public methods (delete, toggle, etc.).Fix:
// AppServiceProvider::boot() Livewire::addPersistentMiddleware([EnsureUserIsAdmin::class]);Livewire then re-applies that middleware on update requests for components first rendered on a route that had it. Built-ins like
authare already persistent; your own middleware isn't.Belt and braces for destructive methods:
public function deleteUser(): void { abort_unless(auth()->user()?->is_admin, 403); // ... }Testing gotcha:
Livewire::test()doesn't run route middleware at all, so a test only catches this if the guard lives inside the method.->call('deleteUser')->assertForbidden()as a non-admin is a cheap regression test.
