> Company mail systems (Microsoft Defender Safe Links, Mimecast and others) open every link in an incoming email to scan it. If your unsubscribe route does the work on GET, those scanners quietly take people off your lists and nobody knows why the emails stopped.
>
> Make the link open a page, and do the unsubscribe on a button press. Signed routes mean no login is needed, and you can post forms straight to signed URLs:
>
> ```php
> Route::middleware('signed')->prefix('email/unsubscribe/{list}')->name('unsubscribe')->group(function () {
>     Route::get('/', [UnsubscribeController::class, 'show']);
>     Route::post('/', [UnsubscribeController::class, 'store'])->name('.store');
> });
>
> // In show(): the form action is its own signed URL.
> 'action' => URL::signedRoute('unsubscribe.store', ['list' => $list, 'email' => $email]),
> ```
>
> ```blade
> <form method="POST" action="{{ $action }}">
>     @csrf
>     <button type="submit">Unsubscribe</button>
> </form>
> ```
>
> Use `signedRoute`, not `temporarySignedRoute`: an email from six months ago must still unsubscribe. Lowercase the email before signing, or a case difference breaks the lookup. An undo button on the confirmation page helps people who clicked by mistake.
