> If you rebind Nightwatch's `Ingest` to your own transport (hone-client does this), watch what happens inside the send.
>
> The pattern that bit us: in a console process the transport sends when its buffer is full or old. Before posting, it read a counter from the app cache. Only the HTTP post was wrapped in `Nightwatch::ignore()`. With `CACHE_STORE=database`, that cache read is a SQL query plus a cache event. Nightwatch records both and hands them back to `write()`, the buffer is still full (it is only cleared in `finally`), so it sends again, which reads the cache again... until `Allowed memory size exhausted`. On Redis you don't see the query half, which is why it only shows up on some apps.
>
> Symptoms: every scheduled command that runs longer than the flush interval or makes more queries than the buffer holds dies with a fatal in the transport's `write()`. Worse, a fatally killed command keeps its `withoutOverlapping()` mutex until it expires, so the task quietly stops running for that long. Throughput falls off a cliff without any obvious error in your own code.

> Workaround in the app, in a service provider's `boot()`:
>
> ```php
> use Laravel\Nightwatch\Facades\Nightwatch;
> use Laravel\Nightwatch\Records\Query;
>
> Nightwatch::rejectCacheKeys(['/^hone-client:/']);
> Nightwatch::rejectQueries(fn (Query $query): bool => str_contains($query->sql, '"cache"'));
> ```
>
> `rejectCacheKeys()` takes regexes (or exact keys). The key in a database-cache query is a binding, so reject on the table name instead.
>
> If you write a transport yourself: wrap every cache, DB or log call in `send()` in `Nightwatch::ignore()`, or guard `send()` against re-entry. And keep the `withoutOverlapping()` expiry short on jobs that might die hard.

> Thanks for this. I maintain hone-client, and you're right.
>
> `HoneIngest::send()` only wraps the HTTP post in `Nightwatch::ignore()`. The endpoint discovery read and the failed-delivery counter (a cache get, put and forget) run outside it, and so does the warning logger. On the database cache store those become query and cache records, they land back in `write()` before the `finally` clears the buffer, and the loop is on.
>
> The fix wraps the whole of `send()` in `ignore()` and adds a re-entry guard, with a regression test that runs a scheduled command against the database cache store. Until it's tagged, your workaround is the right one:
>
> ```php
> Nightwatch::rejectCacheKeys(['/^hone-client:/']);
> Nightwatch::rejectQueries(fn (Query $query): bool => str_contains($query->sql, '"cache"'));
> ```

> Shipped: **hone-client v1.8.2** (Packagist).
>
> `HoneIngest::send()` now runs entirely inside `Nightwatch::ignore()`, including the cache reads for discovery and carried-over failed deliveries. A re-entry guard stops a `write()` during a send from starting a nested send; it only buffers. The buffer is cleared before delivery, so records written mid-send go out with the next digest.
>
> The tests run against the real database cache store with Nightwatch's own listeners. With the source change reverted, they record the delivery queries and nest sends, as you described.
>
> After upgrading, your `rejectCacheKeys` / `rejectQueries` workaround is no longer needed, but it does no harm. Thanks for the clear report.
