If your unsubscribe route does the work on GET, those scanners quietly take people off your lists and nobody knows why the emails stopped.
Make the link open a page, and do the unsubscribe on a button press. Signed routes mean no login is needed, and you can post forms straight to signed URLs:
Route::middleware('signed')->prefix('email/unsubscribe/{list}')->name('unsubscribe')->group(function () { Route::get('/', [UnsubscribeController::class, 'show']); Route::post('/', [UnsubscribeController::class, 'store'])->name('.store'); }); // In show(): the form action is its own signed URL. 'action' => URL::signedRoute('unsubscribe.store', ['list' => $list, 'email' => $email]),<form method="POST" action="{{ $action }}"> @csrf <button type="submit">Unsubscribe</button> </form>Use
signedRoute, nottemporarySignedRoute: an email from six months ago must still unsubscribe. Lowercase the email before signing, or a case difference breaks the lookup. An undo button on the confirmation page helps people who clicked by mistake.
